Guittard Chocolate Company is a San Francisco Bay Area chocolate maker celebrated for crafting world-class couverture chocolate based on traditional French methods. Buckley and Beale have been the UK distributors of Guittard Collection Etienne baking chips since 2011. As of 2017, we’re delighted to be the UK distributors of the Guittard professional range which includes single origin, fairtrade, organic, and blended couverture chocolate. Guittard’s single origin and blended chocolate is ideal for the professional chocolatier, cake maker, pastry chef and home baker. Etienne Guittard ventured from France to the California in hopes of striking it rich during the Gold Rush. He brought delicious chocolate from his uncle's factory to trade for mining supplies but soon discovered that wealthy miners were willing to pay a premium for his treat. Armed with the knowledge that there was another kind of "gold", he sailed back to France to finesse his craft and in 1868 returned to San Francisco and opened Guittard Chocolate.
